The uvex group is a family business dedicated to the best possible protection in sport, leisure and the workplace. It was founded by Philipp M. Winter in 1926, based in Fürth (Germany), to manufacture protective glasses. The uvex brand was created in the mid-1950s by Rainer Winter, owner of the second generation of the company. The name uvex refers to uv-ex = ultraviolet excluded, that is, the name of the UV protection of the glasses. Within a short time, the uvex brand encompassed a wide variety of sports and leisure products (ski, bicycle and riding helmets, ski, bicycle and sports goggles) and occupational safety products (glasses, helmets, gloves, hearing protection, safety and work clothes). Today, the company already has the fourth family generation, and after 90 years since its foundation, its philosophy continues to be the protection of people. All uvex products have in common technological innovation, extremely comfortable use and unique design. In short, they are products that guarantee high performance, offering optimum quality. Among its technological innovations, is the Variomatic technology, which consists of the progressive change of the tonality of sports lenses, to adapt to different light conditions. Or the Octo+ technology of the helmets, which thanks to its elastic material, perfectly covers the skier's skull. Or the super light goggles, weighing just 18 grams.
