Nikwax TX waterproofing. Direct Wash-In
Opiniones :
Waterproofing Nikwax TX. Direct Wash-In, to effectively waterproof waterproof fabrics, reinforcing their water repellency and breathability.
The waterproofing TX. Nikwax Direct Wash-In is the best product to safely and effectively waterproof breathable and waterproof clothing, which is exposed to humid conditions.
It is an easy-to-use product that reinforces the Durable Water Repellency (DWR) of your waterproof clothing, preventing the entry of water and promoting breathability. This way you will stay dry and comfortable despite the rain.
When we sweat, we give off water vapor that helps us cool off, so ideally, clothing should be breathable and allow sweat to evaporate. In the event that it rains and we use a waterproof fabric so as not to get wet, it would also be ideal for it to be breathable, otherwise, as sweat cannot evaporate, we would end up wet due to condensation. In addition, when the exterior of the fabric begins to absorb water, breathability can be reduced by up to 70%, causing us to feel wet and uncomfortable. As we wear waterproof clothing, it loses Durable Water Repellency (DWR), so we must replace it with Nikwax TX. Direct Wash-In.
If your waterproof clothing has been recently purchased or has been waterproofed for a short time, when it gets dirty, simply clean it with Nikwax Tech Wash®, which in addition to ensuring effective cleaning, will also reinforce the Durable Water Repellency (DWR) of the garment. With the use of the waterproof garment over time it loses its water repellency, so Nikwax TX.Direct® should be applied after cleaning it with Nikwax Tech Wash®.
There are other waterproofing products on the market but they can be harmful to the health of the user and the environment, such as those that use fluorocarbons, or aerosols that are flammable.
However, Nikwax has prioritized reducing the impact on the environment in the use of its products. That is why Nikwax TX.Direct® Wash-In is an aqueous, ecological product, safe to use, non-aerosol, non-flammable, without volatile organic compounds or fluorocarbons and respectful with the environment.
There are causes that cause a waterproof fabric to lose this capacity, such as the presence of dirt that attracts water, or the use of traditional detergents that leave hydrophilic residues that favor water absorption. Therefore, for the performance of a waterproof garment to be adequate, it is necessary to maintain a regular cleaning using Nikwax Tech Wash®.
The waterproofing TX. Nikwax Direct Wash-In is available in two sizes: 300 ml and 5 liters.
This product can be used in the washing machine or by hand.
To use in the washing machine:
- Wash first with Nikwax Tech Wash® detergent. Do not use traditional detergents. For later waterproofing, the garments may be wet.
- Clean the detergent drawer of the washing machine so that no residue remains.
- Put a maximum of two clean garments in the washing machine.
- Use 100 ml of Nikwax TX.Direct® Wash-In for each garment.
- Choose a cycle for synthetic garments (30º) and a slow spin.
- Garments that have been worn a lot may have some heat-sealed seams peeled off. In this case, the garment should not be washed in the washing machine or tumble dried, as the adhesion of the seam becomes weaker and more sensitive to heat. To close the seam again, a suitable glue can be used once the garment has been waterproofed and dried.
To use by hand:
- Gloves must be worn.
- Place a clean garment in 6 liters of hot water.
- Add 50 ml of Nikwax TX.Direct®.
- Stir well so that it is soaked in water and the product, wait 5 to 10 minutes and stir well again.
- Rinse several times with cold water until the water runs clear.
After finishing the treatment with Nikwax TX.Direct® it is not necessary to apply heat to the garment for the performance of the Durable Water Repellency (DWR) to be effective, so it can be air dried, and if it is done in a tumble dryer, as long as the garment label allows it and with a delicate program.
